Liberty's is an outdoor owl, raptor and reptile centre run as a conservation and rescue charity on the edge of the market town of Ringwood. Families can watch scheduled flying demonstrations featuring owls, eagles and other birds of prey, meet animals in talks covering reptiles, minibeasts, fish and storks, and look around the reptile house. Younger children tend to head for the sandpit, balance trails and fort in the play area, while adults can sit with a drink from the on-site café. Picnic tables are dotted around the grounds, and visitors can bring their own food. The centre is walk-in only, so there is no need to book a timed slot ahead, though group visits for schools and clubs are arranged by phone. Dogs are not admitted to the main centre because of the birds, but kennels are available on site.

Closed to general admission in November and December 2026; 2027 dates TBC on the venue site.

Questions parents ask

Can I bring a buggy, and will I manage with a toddler and older child at the same time?
The centre is buggy friendly, so you can take a pushchair around. It is outdoors on a single site, which makes it manageable for mixed ages, though you should wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
Is there a café, or should I bring a picnic?
There is a café on site, and there is also a picnic area if you prefer to bring your own food.
Is there parking, and how far is the walk from the car?
Parking is available at the centre. The site is outdoors, so the walk from the car depends on where you park, but step-free access is confirmed throughout.
How long should we allow for a visit?
A typical visit lasts around two hours, which gives you time to see the birds, reptiles and other animals without rushing.
