The RAPTC Museum tells the story of the instructors who keep the British Army physically fit, from the first organised training sessions in the 1860s to today. It sits inside the Army School of Physical Training at Fox Lines, so visitors pass through a working military site to reach it. Displays include medals, uniforms, weapons, historic training equipment, paintings and a strong collection of sporting and Olympic memorabilia. Interactive displays and a touchscreen challenge make it engaging for older children, while younger visitors can try a jigsaw puzzle, follow a quiz trail to find the hidden lions, or dress up as a First World War soldier. Entry is free, but visitors need photo ID and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. It suits families with an interest in history, sport or the military, and is a short visit rather than a full day out.
