A seasonal outdoor attraction on the eastern side of Stanley Park, built around miniature recreations of villages, castles, church and fairground scenes. The models sit among landscaped gardens of about two and a half acres, so families can wander at their own pace, stop on the benches and look for the small details in each scene. A model railway runs through the displays. The site is paved throughout with no stairs, which suits pushchairs and visitors who use wheelchairs, and a wheelchair and a motorised scooter can be borrowed from the gift shop. The gift shop sells snacks, hot drinks and souvenirs. Younger children often enjoy spotting figures and animals, while older ones tend to appreciate the craftsmanship. It suits a relaxed half-day out during the spring and summer months, and dogs on a lead are welcome.
Open daily from 28 March to 1 November 2026 per the venue's Times and Prices page, weather permitting.
Questions parents ask
- How long should we allow for a visit?
- A typical visit lasts around two hours, which gives you time to wander the walkways, follow the quiz, and see the hundreds of model scenes without rushing.
- Is it manageable with both a toddler and an older child?
- The site has paved pathways with full step-free access across the 2½ acres of gardens, and buggy friendliness has not been confirmed, so check ahead if you are planning to bring a pushchair.
- Can we eat there or should we bring a picnic?
- There is a café on site, though we have not confirmed whether there is a dedicated picnic area if you prefer to bring your own food.
- Does it work in rainy weather?
- Most of the experience is outdoors in the gardens, so heavy rain will limit enjoyment; a dry or clear forecast makes for a better visit.
