Haworth Art Gallery is an Edwardian Tudor-style house set in nine acres of parkland on the south side of Accrington town centre. Visitors can walk through the rooms of the house to see a collection of Tiffany glass that is among the largest of its kind, alongside 18th and 19th century paintings and a rolling programme of temporary exhibitions. The former stables and motor house now hold working artists' studios, where the public can sometimes see artists at work. Outside, the park has wide lawns, a circular rose garden and views across the Pennine hills, which makes it a relaxed outing for a family. Admission is free. The indoor displays are quiet and suit children who enjoy art, craft and history; very young children who need active play may find the visit short.
