Wycoller Country Park is a mixture of woodland and farmland in the Pendle hills, built around the small hamlet of Wycoller and its ruined hall. Families come to wander the footpaths, explore the stone ruins of the hall, which is said to have inspired a setting in Jane Eyre, and cross the old clapper and packhorse bridges over Wycoller Beck. The park is a working farm, so dogs are kept on leads and visitors are asked to keep to the paths. There are toilets and a picnic area on site, and a visitor centre in the Aisled Barn. Cars are kept out of the village itself, so most visitors park at one of the two car parks and walk in. It suits a relaxed outdoor day with older children and younger walkers alike, with plenty of space to run about and look for wildlife.
