Facilities
We haven’t checked this venue’s facilities yet. Give them a ring if something specific matters for your visit.
The Peacemakers Museum sits inside the Gasyard Centre in the Bogside area of Derry and covers the period from 1972 to 2007, when the conflict in Northern Ireland gave way to the peace process. Displays combine artefacts, archive footage, interactive features and recorded personal stories from local people, and include installations on local landmarks. The museum also looks at the roles of local politicians and activists in the transition to peace. It suits older children, teenagers and adults who want to understand recent history, and it pairs naturally with the nearby Museum of Free Derry. There is a gift shop on site. Content deals with violence and loss, so families may wish to judge what suits younger children before visiting.
