Askham Bryan Wildlife & Conservation Park is a wildlife park set within the historic arboretum of Askham Bryan College, just outside York. It opened to visitors in 2017 and is home to more than 100 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates, many of them threatened in the wild. Animals on show include meerkats, lemurs, tamarins, marmosets, owls, wallabies and tortoises. The park is compact, so a family can see the enclosures in a morning or an afternoon. Keeper talks and animal experiences run through the day, and there are seasonal events and holiday activities with a conservation theme. Because the park is part of a college animal management unit, it has a calm, educational feel. It suits families with younger children and older primary-age pupils who want to meet animals and learn about wildlife close to York.

Seasonal opening: winter closure November to early February; open at varied times between February and October per the venue site.
