Kiplin Hall is a Jacobean country house in the North Yorkshire countryside, built in the 1620s and furnished with possessions from the four families who lived there over four centuries. Families can walk through the rooms of the hall, see portraits, furniture and personal belongings, and use a family activity room inside. Outside, the grounds offer lakeside, woodland and parkland walks, a productive walled garden, a natural play area and outdoor games. Children can borrow trails and explore the water for pond dipping during the season, and there is a play ship to climb on. A visitor centre and tea room sit within easy reach of the car park, so it is simple to stop for lunch or cake. Dogs are welcome on leads in the grounds, though not inside the hall.
