Flamingo Land Resort combines a large theme park with an award-winning zoo, set on one site in the countryside near Malton. The zoo keeps more than 140 species, from big cats and rhinos to penguins and hippos, and families can watch the hippo enclosure from a dedicated viewing deck where a keeper talk and feeding session takes place. The theme park has a range of rides, from thrill rides for older children to family rides and a kids' section for smaller visitors, along with a Muddy Duck tractor ride and other attractions. Younger children can enjoy the play areas, while older ones will find the coasters and thrill rides a draw. The resort also offers on-site accommodation and a leisure complex, so many families use it for a longer stay. It suits a full day out with a mix of animals and rides.
