Luna Park sits at the southern end of Scarborough's seafront and is run as a family fairground-style theme park. The rides are arranged for a range of ages, from a children's carousel and small car rides for little ones to dodgems and faster thrill rides for older children and adults. There are also carnival games such as hook-a-duck and basketball, and a choice of slushies, burgers and candyfloss for a snack. Families with younger children can stick to the gentler rides, while older children can try the more exhilarating ones. The park is open for part of the year, so it is worth checking the current season before a visit. It makes a simple half-day or full-day outing for a family already spending time on the coast.
