The Great Yorkshire Showground is a 250-acre site on the edge of Harrogate, run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society. It hosts the Great Yorkshire Show each July, a four-day agricultural event with thousands of animals in the judging rings, working demonstrations, cookery theatres and a dedicated children's area. Families can see livestock up close, watch show jumping and try free activities in the family zone. Outside the main show the site runs other events through the year, including spring farm days and autumn countryside shows, and it has a farm shop and café. Because the showground is used for ticketed events on set dates, visitors should check the event calendar before travelling. Much of the site is outdoors, so pack for changeable weather.
