What’s there

  • Parking

Dedicated disabled parking is provided at the centre, per the venue's accessibility page. General parking arrangements not described.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

The Cumberland Bird of Prey Centre is a small falconry centre where visitors meet owls, hawks, falcons, eagles and vultures up close. Rather than a walk-round zoo, the centre runs booked sessions with a falconer, so families get time with the birds and can take part. The Family Experience is a one-hour session for a single family group, with explanations pitched at children and the chance to hold and fly several of the birds. Other sessions include a half-day experience, an owl encounter, a hawk walk and a couple's hour. The site has a wheelchair-accessible trackway around part of the centre and dedicated disabled parking. Dogs cannot enter the site, because the birds find them frightening. Booking ahead is advisable, as sessions often sell out. The centre also has self-catering accommodation on site.
