What’s there

  • Café on site
  • Limited parking
  • Dogs welcome

No car park at the farm itself. The Wildlife Trust asks visitors to park in Bourton-on-the-Water, about a 5-minute walk away; it names the Station Road car park (pay and display).

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Greystones Farm is a free-entry nature reserve run by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, set in wildflower meadows and beside the River Eye on the edge of Bourton-on-the-Water. Families can follow the Time Travel Trail to a life-size replica Iron Age roundhouse built by trust staff and volunteers. Children can dress up in Iron Age costume and try a touch-screen wildlife quiz in the Discovery Barn, and a Wild Play area of carved wooden climbing structures sits opposite the roundhouse. The site also contains an Iron Age hillfort and Scheduled Monument to explore. Water voles and otters can sometimes be spotted along the river. The working farm keeps a dairy herd, and the paths are mostly level and suitable for pushchairs, which suits younger children as well as older ones who like to look for wildlife.

The café and Discovery Barn were closed for winter on the Wildlife Trust's About page (undated). The Discovery Barn is open during special events, per a Trust news item. The meadows walk is closed in autumn, winter and, depending on water levels, into spring.
