Westbury Court Garden

Westbury Court Garden is a restored 17th-century Dutch water garden in Gloucestershire, cared for by the National Trust and set near the banks of the River Severn. Families can follow the long central canal lined with clipped yew hedges, look out for the pavilions at either end, and see the statue and water features along the way. Beyond the canals there are vegetable plots worked in the style of the period, historic apple, pear and plum trees, and a picnic area on the far side of the garden over a small bridge. The site is mostly flat with grass and gravel paths, which suits a relaxed stroll with pushchairs or younger children. The open water canals have no fencing, so little ones need close supervision. Dogs on short leads are welcome. It works well as a calm half-day out rather than a busy attraction.
