Hemsworth Waterpark & Playworld

Hemsworth Waterpark and Playworld is an outdoor lakeside park on the edge of Kinsley, south of Pontefract. Two lakes sit side by side: the larger one has sandy beach edges and pedalo boats for hire, while the smaller one is quieter and set up for wildlife watching, so it suits families who want a walk as well as a play. The main draw for children is Playworld, an outdoor adventure playground with a tall tube slide, climbing frames and a toddlers' sandpit, which is open to children of all ages. Grassed areas give plenty of room for picnics and ball games. The park is free to walk around, with small charges for Playworld, pedalos and car parking. Swimming and paddling are not allowed in the lakes, and the play equipment closes in wet weather, so the day suits dry, mild weather best.
