The Buscot and Coleshill Estates are a National Trust landscape of two working villages and about 7,000 acres of traditionally farmed land in the Thames Valley. Families can follow a range of circular walks and marked family trails, from short parkland loops at Coleshill to longer routes that cross farms and climb to the Iron Age hillfort at Badbury. At Buscot there is a riverside picnic spot by the Thames and the historic house and gardens of Buscot Park nearby. Coleshill offers a wartime story to explore, as the village was home to the secret Auxiliary Units during the Second World War, and there is an old watermill to see. The estate runs school days built around nature, river and history topics, and a cafe serves refreshments at Coleshill. It suits families who like open-air walks, wildlife spotting and village exploring, and dogs are welcome on leads.

Guided Second World War walks run monthly from March to November according to the venue's events listing.
