The Divinity School is a late medieval Gothic room that forms part of the Bodleian Libraries at the University of Oxford. Its fan-vaulted ceiling is decorated with hundreds of carved bosses, and children often notice the carvings and the sheer scale of the room. Many families know it from the Harry Potter films, where it stood in for the Hogwarts infirmary and a dance classroom. It is reached by booking a guided tour that runs through the historic library buildings, so it suits older children and adults who enjoy history, stories and architecture. The Bodleian publishes a families page that welcomes children of all ages to visit the Divinity School, offers discounted family tour tickets and free entry for under-5s. The surrounding city centre also has a free ground-floor exhibition space, a café and a shop at the Weston Library nearby.
