The National Army Museum in Chelsea tells the story of the British Army from the Civil Wars to the present day, through objects, uniforms, vehicles and the personal accounts of ordinary soldiers. Its galleries are free to enter, and the museum describes itself as a fun, interactive space for all the family. Younger visitors can spend time in the Play Base, a dedicated play area, and there are family-focused activities and events through the year. Older children and teenagers may enjoy the large-scale displays, the stories of individual soldiers and the chance to see famous objects up close. A café and shop are on site, and the building has baby changing and feeding areas and accessible toilets. The museum is also a popular school visit, with learning programmes for primary and secondary groups.
