The Grand Pier sits on the seafront at Weston-super-Mare and runs out over the Bristol Channel to a big pavilion packed with rides and games. Its owners describe it as an indoor theme park, so it suits families with children of many ages on a wet day as well as a sunny one. Younger children tend to head for the soft play and the simpler rides, while older ones go for the go-karts, the Robocoaster and the ghost train. The arcade is a big draw, with rows of machines and prize games. Parents can sit with a drink or a meal in the pier's cafés and bars while the children play. There is a quiet room on site and sensory packs can be borrowed from the gift shop, which helps families with sensory needs plan a visit. Birthday parties and children's party packages are also offered.
