Southport Model Railway Village is a miniature landscape set inside King's Gardens beside the Marine Lake. It was built around one of the larger 45mm garden railway systems in the country, and trains wind through a country scene with a village, a castle, a windmill, a station and a factory. Families with pre-school and primary-age children often follow a favourite engine round the layout, while railway enthusiasts come for the detail. The site is outdoors and has been laid out for buggies and wheelchairs, with accessible toilets and a baby changing unit. Visitors can picnic at the tables in the tea gardens, and refreshments are sold from a window at the main entrance. Trains do not run in very heavy rain or high winds, so it is worth checking before a visit.
Operates seasonally, weather permitting. Reopening stated for spring 2027.
