Argaty is a working upland livestock farm that has been run by one family for generations and is now a rewilding estate. The main draw is the daily red kite feeding visit, where a ranger guides visitors to a purpose-built hide to watch the birds come in to feed. Families can also visit a simple visitor centre with information and videos about the wildlife, and there is a woodland hide where red squirrels, woodpeckers and other birds are often seen. Younger visitors can enjoy the mud kitchen and raised pond near the visitor centre. Because the feeding tours are led and timed, the experience suits children who can sit and watch quietly for an hour or so. The site also runs beaver-watching and wildlife activities at other times, so it works well as a nature outing for a family.
Red kites are most abundant October to March; the site also runs beaver tours and wildlife activities. Booking via the venue's own booking page.
