A restored Victorian glasshouse set in the middle of Sefton Park, the Palm House is a free outing for families who want somewhere to wander indoors and then walk outside. Inside, the glasshouse holds a historic collection of tropical and subtropical plants, some of them rare, with seasonal displays through the year. The surrounding park has open lawns and paths, so a visit can easily combine the glasshouse with a stroll. The venue also runs family and children's holiday activities, craft sessions and exhibitions alongside its heritage programme, and has a café on site. It is also used for concerts, weddings and private events, so some days are closed to visitors at short notice and it is worth checking the opening-times page before setting out.
