The Casbah Coffee Club is a basement music club in a house in the West Derby Village area of Liverpool, opened by Mona Best in 1959. The venue's own site describes it as the place where The Beatles gave their first live performances, and visitors can see the basement as it was in those early days. Visits are guided tours that must be booked in advance, so families join a group with a host. Several tour options exist, including a combined ticket with the Liverpool Beatles Museum that adds memorabilia to the visit. Children are admitted on the main tours, with reduced prices for under-16s and free entry for under-5s. It suits older children and teenagers with an interest in music history, and parents looking for a more intimate alternative to the city centre Beatles sites. The visit takes place indoors.
