A transport museum on Taylor Street in Birkenhead, across the River Mersey from Liverpool, built around a collection of historic trams, local buses, cars, motorcycles and bicycles. Visitors have been able to see a reconstructed 1930s garage scene, a large model railway and workshops where restoration projects were under way. A heritage tramway once ran from the museum to the Woodside ferry terminal, giving families a short ride as part of the visit. The site has been closed to the public since April 2023 while its operator addresses safety and infrastructure issues, and no confirmed reopening date has been published. Check the operator's website for the latest position before planning a trip.
