The Royal Army Chaplains' Museum, formerly the Museum of Army Chaplaincy, traces the work of army chaplains from early times to the present day. Its displays draw on archive material and historical relics from several centuries and cover chaplains in peacetime, under fire and in captivity. Themes include faith in uniform, faith under fire and the four chaplains who were awarded the Victoria Cross. The collection contains no weapons or ammunition, so it is a quieter, reflective visit than many military museums. It suits families with older children who enjoy history, wartime stories or the people behind the armed forces. The building has step-free access, toilets that are accessible to all, and benches in several places. Visiting is normally on weekday afternoons, and the museum can also open by arrangement.
