The MCC Museum sits inside Lord's Cricket Ground, the Home of Cricket, and is one of the oldest sports museums anywhere. Its galleries cover several centuries of the game through bats, balls, historic clothing, paintings, photographs and documents, and the famous Ashes urn is the centrepiece. Older children who enjoy sport or history will find plenty to look at, and the displays work for visitors who know nothing about cricket as well as for fans. Entry is not sold as a standalone ticket: most visitors reach the museum on a guided tour of the ground, which also takes in the pavilion and the Long Room, or with a valid ticket for a match day. Tours run most days of the year apart from match and event days, so check the current schedule before you travel.
Tour times are seasonal; the museum is not open on its own outside tour or match-day times.
