Wellcome Collection is a free museum and library in a converted building on Euston Road in central London. Its galleries mix medical artefacts with contemporary and historic artworks, and the rotating temporary exhibitions take a different theme each season. Families with older children who enjoy curious objects, science and art tend to find the most to talk about here. The building also has a public reading room and a library of health and medical history, plus a café and a bookshop that make a comfortable stop between galleries. Most exhibitions and events are free to enter, so a visit can be as short or as long as suits the group. Younger children may need more guidance than the galleries offer, so it works best as a visit for teenagers and curious adults rather than a play-focused outing.
