The Barn Museum sits inside Tannaghmore Gardens, a green space that also has a rare breeds animal farm, a children's play park, a maze and walking trails. The museum is housed in an old Victorian barn and has five galleries about life in the countryside of County Armagh. Each one covers a different theme, such as dairying and washing, blacksmithing, haymaking and linen weaving. Displays include the tools of a local blacksmith and items linked to the area's linen, apple growing and rose growing industries. It suits families who want a gentle, indoor history visit to pair with time outdoors, and school and group visits are welcome by arrangement. Because the museum is run by the local council's museum service, opening is limited and it is worth checking before setting off.
