The Computer Sheds holds the Jim Austin Computer Collection, a large private assembly of historical computers spread across several converted sheds in the countryside. The displays run from early calculating devices and home computers of the 1980s through to minicomputers, mainframes and supercomputers, and include a valve radio exhibition and an engineering workshop display. Visitors can see machines from the early days of personal computing, including classic home computers and games consoles, which many older visitors will recognise and younger ones will find curious. The collection is best suited to families with a keen interest in technology, and older children who enjoy seeing how computers changed over several decades. Because the sheds are run as a private collection, visits are arranged in advance rather than dropping in, so it is worth contacting the collection before making the journey.
