Bedford Town Football Club, nicknamed the Eagles, play their home matches at The Eyrie in Cardington, just outside Bedford. Founded in 1908 and reformed in 1989, the club now plays in the National League North (sixth tier of English football) and is a genuinely family-friendly matchday destination. Under-10s get in free and tickets for 10-17s are just £6, so taking the kids along to watch live football is an affordable day out. The matchday experience centres on The Eyrie's clubhouse, which includes The Eagles Bar and The Maxey Suite, a function room that hosts birthday parties, weddings and events. During the school holidays the club runs junior summer football camps at the stadium (9am-3pm, £15 per day or £40 for a 3-day pass) where children can train with qualified coaches. The club also runs youth, academy and girls' teams, making it a real community football hub. Check the fixtures page on the club's website before you go — home matches are usually 3pm Saturday kick-offs with evening games midweek, and turnstiles open roughly 90 minutes before kick-off.
Home matches follow the National League North season (roughly August to April/May). Junior football camps run during school holidays, mainly in the summer.
