The Bunyan Sports Centre — officially John Bunyan Sports & Fitness — is Bedford's family sports and fitness centre on Mile Road, run by Better (GLL) for Bedford Borough Council.
Kids will love the two-tier soft play area with slides, obstacles and a ball pit, and the centre runs budget junior activities (basketball, badminton, indoor football and table tennis from £2 a go), plus soft play and football birthday parties. There's a SEND sensory room for inclusive play and relaxation, relaxed SEND soft play sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings, and a café where parents can refuel while the little ones burn off energy.
Adults can train in the gym with more than 45 stations, join a group cycle or fitness class, or play badminton, basketball, pickleball and squash in the eight-court sports hall and four squash courts.
Note: there is no swimming pool on site — for pools head to Robinson Pool or Oasis Beach Pool in Bedford.
Opening: Mon–Fri 7am–10pm, Sat–Sun 9am–5:30pm. Free car park with 70 spaces (10 disabled).
