Washbrooks Family Farm

Washbrooks is a family-run farm at the base of the South Downs near Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex. One admission price gives all-day entry with unlimited access to the animal barn, outdoor play, indoor play, pedal area and brook walk.

Outside, children can tackle the adventure playground with its zip wire, climbing frames, trampolines, balance bars, slides, swings and the 'Sheep Ahoy!' pirate ship, bounce on two jumping pillows (a small one for under-5s and a huge one for bigger kids), dig in a well-stocked sandpit and zoom around the covered pedal area on ride-on tractors and scooters. The indoor play barn is open all year round whatever the weather - suited to children under 8, with slides, a ball pit, a climbing area and a ball cannon, plus 'The Castle' zone of little slides and a mini ball pit for toddlers and under-5s. Note the indoor play area is not heated.

The farm has a friendly tearoom (food and drink to eat in or takeaway, with children's afternoon tea available) and a gift/toy shop. You're also welcome to bring your own picnic. Parking is free with signed disabled bays and an overflow car park, and the farm is about 2 miles from Hassocks station (273 and 33 buses stop nearby). Dogs are not permitted on site, except guide dogs.

Tickets are bought at the entrance on the day - no advance booking. Children aged 0-35 months go free, individuals aged 3-59 pay 9.50, over 60s pay 8.50 and a group of 4 is 34. Annual membership is also available. The farm is open daily 9:30am-5pm (tearoom until 4pm), with early closing on Christmas Eve.
