Harvington Hall is a moated Elizabethan manor house hidden deep in the Worcestershire countryside, three miles south-east of Kidderminster. The Grade I listed Hall sits on its own island, a Scheduled Monument, and is famed for having more priest hides (seven) than any other house in England, plus rare Elizabethan wall paintings and original panelling. Families can join guided tours (about 1 hour 15 minutes) where guides bring the darker side of Elizabethan England to life, or explore self-guided at set times. There are family tickets, under-5s go free, and the Hall runs seasonal family events including trails, history festivals and activities. The gardens around the moat are free to visit on non-event days, with benches, picnic tables and resident ducks, and the Malt House Coffee Shop in the gardens serves artisan coffee, homemade cakes, cream teas and picnic hampers. Free parking, baby changing and accessible toilets are available, with wheelchair access to the Hall's ground floor and gardens. Open seasonally February to December, Wednesday to Sunday (and 7 days a week during school holidays).
