Highclere Castle, the setting for ITV's Downton Abbey, is a grand Victorian country house in Highclere Park, Hampshire. Families can tour the spectacular State Rooms, explore the Egyptian Exhibition in the cellars (telling the story of the 5th Earl of Carnarvon and Tutankhamun), and wander the gardens and grounds, including Downton Abbey filming spots such as Lady Mary's bench and the secret garden. Children aged 4-16 have their own ticket price and under-4s go free; pushchairs are welcome around the grounds and baby carriers can be used inside the Castle. There are tearooms and a gift shop on site. Opening is seasonal and most visits require pre-booked tickets.

Seasonal/event-based opening. Summer Public Opening 12 Jul - 3 Sep 2026 (Sun-Thu); other months run guided tours and events such as Christmas at Highclere and Wintertime Castle Guided Tours. Pre-booking required for all tickets.
