Pendennis Castle is a Tudor artillery fortress built by Henry VIII on Pendennis Point to defend the shores of Falmouth. Families can storm the ramparts, race through hidden tunnels and uncover wartime secrets, explore the Tudor Keep and impressive historic guns, and visit the interactive exhibition in the Royal Artillery Barracks - with a hands-on scale model where children can step into the shoes of a soldier. There is a small soft play area, a Castle Explorers trail, grassy lawns for picnics, and a castle café with sea views. Free guided tours run daily with costumed characters, and seasonal family events include summer jousting, Great British Summer activities and Halloween half-term trails. Dogs on leads are welcome, and the site is a 15-minute walk from Falmouth town centre.
