The Wensleydale Railway operates heritage diesel train services through the Yorkshire Dales between Scruton, Leeming Bar, Bedale, Finghall Lane and Leyburn. A great family day out: ride in vintage carriages, visit restored historic stations, and learn about 1900s railway life with free guided tours by costumed living history interpreters. Children aged 3-15 travel for only £1 on regular scheduled trains when accompanied by a paying adult, and under-3s ride free. Dogs on leads are welcome on normal services (dog ticket £1). Facilities include the ticket office and buffet coach at Leeming Bar station and Arthur's Tea Room at Leyburn. Seasonal events include the Polar Express family Christmas experience, Heritage Summer hands-on activity days and special event trains.
