Pickford's House is a unique museum in the Georgian home of the Enlightenment architect Joseph Pickford, who built it as his family home in the 1760s. Run by Derby Museums, it brings historic domestic life up close: furnished rooms and costume displays show how the Pickford family and later occupants used the house, contrasting Georgian grandeur with the lives of the servants. The top floor is home to 'The Tiny World of Toy Theatre', newly expanded displays showcasing Derby Museums' world-class toy theatre collection. Entry is free, the shop is full of traditional children's toys and gifts, and the visitor entrance is up a ramp so the museum is accessible for everyone.
