A heritage railway running 24 miles through the North York Moors National Park, with stations at Pickering, Levisham, Goathland, Grosmont, and Whitby. You can ride behind steam, diesel, or autocar engines. Summer activities include the Discover Your Heroes Trail, Story Creation Station at Goathland, and hands-on engineering workshops. The North Yorkshire Pullman offers dining with views of the moors from June to August. Special events include the Annual Steam Gala, Mad Alice's Ghost Train, and Santa Express in winter. Driver experiences let you take the controls of a locomotive. The railway also offers heritage accommodation and carriage charter for special occasions.
