Scarborough Castle crowns a headland between the two bays of the seaside resort. Explore lofty viewing platforms in the Inner Bailey and Great Tower with views over the town, harbour and bay. The vast grassy headland is a wildflower meadow bigger than 12 football pitches. On the cliff edge stand the remains of a Roman signal station and an Anglo-Saxon church built on its site. A modern sculpture about climate change, part of the 'Wild Eye' art and nature project, is also on site. A coffee shed and ice cream van serve refreshments.
