Blue John Cavern is a series of limestone caverns in Castleton. The caverns show how caves form in limestone strata and reveal fossilised remains of marine animals, demonstrating the geological history of the area. Visitors take guided tours through the caverns. The site has a gift shop selling Blue John jewellery, including pendants, earrings, bracelets, brooches, cufflinks, pill boxes and chains. A cafe is open at weekends for light snacks.
