Shanklin Chine is a tree-lined gorge carved through the cliffs from Shanklin Old Village down to the beach. The main waterfall tumbles 45 feet down the cliff edge, with a second waterfall falling from 29 feet. The chine is lit with illuminations at dusk daily. A ticket includes 7 days of free unlimited returns. Dogs are welcome on leads. The site also has a café, antiques shop, souvenir shop, and the Fisherman's Cottage.
Open seasonally, late March to early November: 26th March - 31st August 10am-10pm (last entry 9:30pm); 1st September - 1st November 10am-9pm (last entry 8:30pm). Closed over winter.
