Penlee House is an art gallery and museum set within Penlee Park's subtropical gardens. The gallery focuses on West Cornish art, particularly works by the Newlyn School and Lamorna artists. The museum covers local history including archaeology, ceramics, social history and fashion, along with the collections of the Penzance Natural History and Antiquarian Society. The house itself, built in 1865 as the home of the Branwell family, hosts changing exhibitions in its Newlyn School and Social History galleries. There's a licensed café serving coffee, light lunch and afternoon tea with homemade cakes prepared to order. The venue runs workshops for all ages, school visits, family activities, talks and guided tours.
