Drummond Castle Gardens is one of Europe's finest formal gardens, dating back to the 17th century and redesigned in the 19th. The gardens you see today were replanted in the 1950s but preserve original features including ancient yew hedges and a beech tree planted by Queen Victoria during her 1842 visit. The castle itself remains closed to the public, but visitors are welcome to explore the formal gardens. The gardens have featured in the film Rob Roy and the Starz Outlander series.
The Gardens are open at Drummond Castle 1 May – 31 October, daily. June–September 11am–5pm (last entry 4pm); October 11am–4pm (last entry 3pm). Closed to the public 1 November – 30 April.
