There is a large car park and designated parking for coaches and minibuses. Bicycle stands in the car park. Coach operators, please note access restrictions. The entrance drive from the B712 to Dawyck Botanic Garden is narrow and due to stone pillars, there is absolutely no left turn from the east, (Peebles side) instead approach from the west (Broughton side) which will allow a safe right turn.
Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.
Dawyck is one of the world's finest arboreta, set in a picturesque glen in the Scottish Borders. Wander through 65 acres of woodland and burnside walks among some of Britain's oldest and tallest trees, including the iconic Dawyck Beech, Douglas firs, and giant redwoods. The garden's continental climate allows rare plants from Nepal, China, and Chile to thrive. Seasonal highlights include carpets of snowdrops in February, swathes of Himalayan blue poppies in early summer, and vibrant azalea blooms in May and June. Follow themed tree trails tracing the adventures of pioneering plant hunters like David Douglas. The garden also houses the world's first reserve dedicated to mosses, liverworts, lichens, and fungi.
Open daily from 1 February - 30 November. March to October: 10am - 5pm (last entry 4.15pm). February and November: 10am - 4pm (last entry 3.15pm).
