The Museum of English Rural Life explores the history of rural England and the people whose lives and work define it. The galleries feature exhibitions on countryside themes including dairying research, the Women's Land Army, and rural experiences. A year-round Rat Trail invites visitors to find 12 rats hidden throughout the galleries, each wearing handmade costumes representing different countryside childhoods. The museum also has a café, garden, shop, and library with archives.
