Calgary Bay is a stunning white sand beach on the northwest coast of the Isle of Mull, set against a backdrop of low hills and machair grassland. The beach offers safe paddling and sandcastle-building for younger children, with rock pools to explore at low tide.
Just up from the beach, Calgary Art in Nature offers a free woodland sculpture walk through the grounds of Calgary Castle, with sculptures by local and international artists set among ancient trees. The Calgary Bay Co cafe and art gallery (open seasonally) serves lunch and refreshments, while the tearoom near the road offers further options.
There is a small play area, public toilets, and a car park. The beach is also the starting point for coastal walks including the walk out to Caliach Point. Calgary Castle overlooks the bay, and the area has historical connections to the naming of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
A perfect family day out combining beach fun, art, nature, and a bite to eat.
