Divis & The Black Mountain is a National Trust property on the outskirts of Belfast, offering open hilltop terrain with four waymarked walking trails: Lough, Summit, Heath and Ridge trails. The highest of the Belfast Hills at 478m (Divis), it provides panoramic 360-degree views over Belfast, Belfast Lough, Lough Neagh, and on clear days across to Scotland and the Isle of Man. Free to access, it is a popular spot for family walks, wildlife spotting (snipe, skylark, red grouse, buzzards, peregrines, badgers, hares) and outdoor recreation. The site was opened to the public in 2005 after conservation work by the National Trust, having previously been under military ownership since 1953. Dogs are welcome on leads.
