Aberystwyth's North Beach is a lively family beach with dark sand and shingle, backed by a mile-long Victorian and Edwardian promenade. The beach offers traditional seaside fun with donkey rides, a bouncy castle, children's rides, and an Edwardian bandstand with summer entertainment. The Victorian Pier (built 1864) provides additional attractions, and the promenade has a paddling pool and plenty of cafes and eateries. Constitution Hill at the northern end features a scenic cliff railway. Lifeguards patrol in summer months. Daily boat trips and watersports (surfing, kayaking, sailing) are available. The beach holds a Seaside Award and is a popular spot for families, with facilities including toilets, disabled access, deckchair hire, and nearby parking.
Lifeguard service provided June-September, patrol times 10am-6pm. Summer entertainment on the promenade including music and choirs.
