Parking £6 per car as of Summer 2026. Not available for large vehicles which cannot access the parking site– ie motorhomes, coaches or caravans will block the busy, single lane roads. Official car parks accept card payments only. Overflow car parks take only cash. At busy times these car parks fill quickly and early in the day. To find them, please follow road signs rather than satnav which uses narrow lanes with no passing places.
Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.
The Four Waterfalls Walk is one of the most popular family walking routes in the Brecon Beacons National Park, near the village of Ystradfellte. The trail follows the Afon Mellte and Afon Hepste rivers through deep, tree-lined gorges, passing four stunning waterfalls: Sgwd Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd Isaf Clun-Gwyn, Sgwd y Pannwr, and the famous Sgwd yr Eira, where you can walk behind the cascading water. This area is known as Waterfall Country and is a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) with internationally important ecology. The main circular walk takes approximately 2-4 hours depending on pace and stops. The terrain is steep and uneven in places with many steps down to the waterfall viewpoints. Dogs are welcome but should be kept on leads due to steep drops. The nearest car parks are Cwm Porth (with toilets, shop and refreshments) and Gwaun Hepste, both managed by the National Park Authority. Parking costs £6 per car (card payments only, Summer 2026). Families with older children who enjoy adventurous walking will love this trail, though it is challenging for younger children and buggies are not suitable.
Overflow car parks ... can open if the ground is not too wet.
