Aberdour Castle is one of the two oldest datable standing castles in Scotland, with parts dating from around 1200. Managed by Historic Environment Scotland, this family-friendly attraction features a medieval tower house, a walled garden, and some of the oldest terraced gardens in Scotland offering extensive views across the Firth of Forth to Edinburgh. The castle grounds are perfect for family exploration, with plenty of space for children to roam and discover history.
Open all year. Summer (1 April - 30 September): Daily 10am-4.30pm (lunch 12.30-1.30pm). Winter (1 October - 31 March): Daily 10am-4pm. Closed festive period (dates to be confirmed).
